P wave indices constitute an intermediate, phenotype reflecting the impact of ischemic, metabolic and inflammatory insults on atrial electrophysiology and morphology. The electrocardiographic PR interval reflects atrial and atrioventricular nodal conduction, disturbances of which increase risk of atrial fibrillation (AF). To identify underlying common genetic variation, we meta-analyzed genome-wide association results for PR interval from seven community-based studies of European-ancestry individuals in the CHARGE consortium: AGES, ARIC, CHS, FHS, KORA, Rotterdam Study, and SardiNIA (N=28,517). However, a systematic electrophysiological investigation of patients with Danon disease is lacking thus far. The ECG shows clearly visible P waves only in lead V1 (Fig. 1). Regular PP intervals and an isoelectric baseline are present between the P waves, so the diagnosis is atrial tachycardia [1]. During the ECG recording, lead V1 shows 12 P waves but some of these are not visible because they are concealed by the QRS complex (Fig. 2).
